I've always been preternaturally fascinated by genetics. My Father instilled in my brother and I a deep seeded interest in genealogy. Twins are common on both sides of my family tree. My Mom has twin sisters, my Dad has twin brothers and his Grandmother was a twin herself. I'm not sure if twins are whats in store for me someday but they are truly fascinating. I've always been intrigued by the stories of twin ESP. Twins that can feel each other's physical pain or emotional distress, I mean how interesting is that?!
Unfortunately because of the mystery and fascination surrounding twins they have been the subjects throughout history of horrible experiments and cruelty in the medical field. I recently came across the story of a town called Candido Godoi in Brazil.
Candido Godoi has long been suspected as the hiding place of infamous Nazi doctor, "Angel of Death" Josef Mengele. Soon after he began practicing and providing prenatatl care to the women in the community the rate of twins sky rocketed. One in five births in the town is now a set of twins, many of them having blonde hair and blue eyes.
